Italian journalist Matteo Marani was impressed with Inter following their 3-1 win over Hellas Verona on Friday.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia (via FcInter1908) after the game, the Italian journalist analysed the performance and spoke highly of coach Simone Inzaghi.
“Great impact, this denotes the quality of Inter. Today the midfield worked less, but the quality came out. And if you can put this player here…
“Everything goes in favour of Inter’s market balance. A heavy win because they went down and weren’t particularly brilliant. Inzaghi is entering Inter in a natural and polite way.
“He hasn’t forced the tone, Inter are equal to last year in terms of wins. Lautaro-Dzeko are refining, they still have to find their movements.
“Both tend to go short, maybe you lose a bit of depth. Maybe Inter need another forward, maybe a physical one to give Dzeko a break.”
Inter have had a strong start to the season under coach Simone Inzaghi, winning their season opener against Genoa and following that up with a win over Hellas Verona.
The Nerazzurri’s first victory was a comfortable and well-managed game, showing the strengths of the squad when everything clicks under Inzaghi.
Friday’s win over the Gialloblu highlighted the strength of character in this Nerazzurri squad, with the team not being disheartened despite an early and frustrating disadvantage.
The Milanese club’s next game is against Sampdoria after the International break on 12th September, and they’ll face Real Madrid in their Champions League opener on 15th September.
The transfer market closes next week on Tuesday, so if Inter want to make any more new signings, they’ll have to work fast.
