Inter-linked Monaco forward Keita Balde is close to joining Sampdoria on a three-year deal and is set to finalize the move before the end of the transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Genoa-based newspaper Il Secolo XIX, who report that the Senegalese striker will return to the club where he spent last season on loan on a permanent basis.

Balde had been linked with the Nerazzurri for much of the summer, with the player reportedly keen on a reunion with former Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi and the Inter manage also amenable to bringing in the player who he worked with successfully while at the Bianconeri together.

Especially given that the player is out of favour at Monaco a move looked possible especially when the Nerazzurri accelerated their pursuit of attacking reinforcements following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.

However, the 26-year-old, who has spent one season on loan with Inter during the 2018-19 season, will instead return to Sampdoria, with his agent negotiating the termination of his Monaco contract to make the move possible.
