Inter wing-back Valentino Lazaro is set to depart Inter on loan before the end of the transfer window, with his move to Portuguese giants Benfica all but done.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 25-year-old will make the switch very soon and that only minor details remain before the switch is completed.

Lazaro is out of favour at Inter having failed to establish a place in the team for himself since joining from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019, and has been expected to depart since returning from a loan with Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this summer.

It has not been clear where his destination would be with a number of clubs expressing interest in the Austrian wing-back.

However, it looks to be Benfica who have won the chase for his signature, and the Lisbon-based club will get the loan deal over the line in the next day or two.
