Inter are set to miss out on target Nahitan Nandez this summer, with the Cagliari midfielder not set to complete a move to the Nerazzurri before the transfer window slams shut.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri would have only considered making a last-minute swoop for the Uruguayan before the transfer deadline had one player in his position departed.

Nandez had been an Inter target throughout the summer, with the club having been reportedly in advanced talks with Cagliari and the player keen on making the switch after agreeing terms with the Nerazzurri, but talks with the Rossoblu broke down and they moved on to other targets.

The 25-year-old still wants the move, but the Nerazzurri would only have considered moving for him before the end of the summer window had one more midfielder than Brest-bound Lucien Agoume.

With midfielders such as Arturo Vidal, Matias Vecino, and Roberto Gagliardini set to stay on until at least January in addition to the first-choice options, there is no room for Nandez in the squad and he will not get his move to Inter.
