Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries has not yet played as much as he had expected for Inter since joining from PSV, but he is ready to work hard to earn his spot in the team.

Speaking to Dutch broadcaster NOS, as reported by L’Interista, the 25-year-old explained that he had hoped that he would be able to get more time on the pitch early in his Nerazzurri career, but that he is working his way into being selected more regularly.

Dumfries has made only a brief cameo off the bench since joining Inter from PSV earlier this month, coming on late during the opening day win against Genoa.

The Dutchman still has more to give and will hope that he can soon get the opportunity to show his best form and make a major impact, but for now his priority is only to get himself to the right level where he can earn his spot.

“Inter are a dream come true,” he said. “Up to now I have only played for a few minutes. I hoped to be able to play a little more, but it doesn’t just depend on me – I know my qualities and I know what I have to do to carve out more space.”
