Young Inter striker Eddie Salcedo is set for a move away before the transfer deadline, but it is not clear whether his eventual destination will be Genoa or Cagliari.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that Genoa are still the favourites for his signature but that Cagliari could beat them to his signature.

Salcedo returned to Inter from a two-year loan spell with Hellas Verona this summer, but he has not expected to be in the first-team plans and has instead looked likely to depart on loan.

A number of clubs have shown an interest in the young striker, though Genoa have appeared to be in pole position to sign him for some time.

However, the Griffone must first offloan striker Caleb Ekuban in order to make room in their squad for Salcedo before they can complete the move.

Should the Ligurian club be unable to complete a move for Salcedo, then Cagliari could bring him in before the window slams shut.
