Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has given his view that Inter are currently the strongest-looking side in Serie A after the first two matchdays.

Writing in his column for Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera in yesterday’s print edition, Sconcerti opined that only Lazio look to be close to the Nerazzurri in terms of the quality of their football among the Scudetto rivals.

Inter are one of five teams in Serie A to have won both of their opening matches alongside Lazio, Roma, Napoli, and city rivals AC Milan.

Last season’s third-place team Atalanta have won one and drawn one, meanwhile, and Juventus have followed up last season’s disappointing fourth-place finish by collecting only one point from their opening two fixtures.

The Nerazzurri do not look at all badly placed to defend their Scudetto crown after an emphatic win against Genoa followed by a tougher task to come back and collect three points against Hellas Verona.

Sconcerti is of this opinion as well, stating that “Up to this point, the best football I have seen has been from Inter, and then from Lazio who are growing quickly and building a foundation.”
