Legendary former striker Patrick Kluivert believes that his compatriot Denzel Dumfries is a top player and has the quality to make a big impression for Inter.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb.com, the striker, formerly of Ajax, AC Milan, and Barcelona as well as the Dutch national side, was full of praise for the wing-back who joined the Nerazzurri from PSV.

Dumfries comes in to take the place of Achraf Hakimi on the right following the Moroccan’s departure for Paris Saint-Germain, and the former PSV man will hope that he can make the right-sided spot his own at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The 25-year-old has grown into major form with PSV over the past several seasons, and also made a significant impression at the Euros with the Dutch national side.

Inter fans will hope that he can continue in this vein under Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi, and Kluivert believes that he has the talent to do so.

“He’s a good player, strong, tall, and a good guy too,” the former striker said. “I believe that Inter have signed a good player.”

Asked whether the Nerazzurri could successfully defend last season’s Scudetto crown, he stated that “Anything is possible. There are many teams with many excellent players.”
