Inter could swoop for Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne next summer, who would be available on a free transfer should his contract run out.
This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 30-year-old is yet to agree on a new deal with his current club and that one is still far away, and that the Nerazzurri are monitoring the situation with the consideration of moving for him next summer in mind.
Insigne’s current deal with Napoli is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and with talks over an extension at a standstill a number of clubs showed an interest in him over the summer.
Inter put forward an offer for the winger, but the Partenopei rejected it, wanting at least €25 million for their captain in order to allow him to leave over the summer.
The Nerazzurri are now considering renewing their interest next summer when the player is out of contract and available as a free agent, with his entourage thought to be asking for a signing bonus of €7 million and wages of around €6 million net per season in addition to the availability of image rights.
With these demands well in excess of anything the Napoli are offering, the Nerazzurri could well tempt the player should they make an offer.
