Italian journalist Giovanni Capuano has praised Inter for being able to convince striker Lautaro Martinez to stay at the club and extend his contract despite the difficult summer.
Remarking in a tweet, Capuano singled out Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio for the job that they did in keeping the 24-year-old on and agreeing on a new deal with him.
Martinez looks set to agree a new contract with Inter, with his current deal set to expire at the end of June 2023 and a number of major European clubs hovering over him.
The Argentine looks ready to commit his future to the Nerazzurri at a time when the club are prioritizing securing his future and those of other important players, and for many observers this represents a symbol of stability and continued strength after the departures of top players like Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku over the summer.
Capuano tweeted: “Inter extend Lautaro Martinez’s contract until 2025. Marotta and Ausilio have achieved a minor masterpiece in an extremely complex situation.”
