Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nadez had been hoping for a move to Inter right up until the transfer deadline passed, but his club denied him his wish.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that a number of offers came in for the midfielder from the Nerazzurri and other clubs but that the Rossoblu held firm up until the the transfer window slammed shut.

Nandez had been an Inter target for much of the window, and the club had reportedly been in advanced talks with Cagliari about a move, while the player had agreed terms with the Nerazzurri and was clear in his wish to complete the move.

However, the Sardinian side eventually pulled the plug on the deal and refused the Nerazzurri’s preferred financial terms, with the Nerazzurri not wanting to go all out for the midfielder.

In the last days of the window the likes of Watford and Napoli also made late pushes for the 25-year-old, but their offers were also turned down by the Rossoblu, and so the player will remain at the club until at least the January window.
