Former Parma defender Lorenzo Minotti believes that Inter had the best transfer window in Serie A this summer along with the likes of AC Milan and Roma.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, the 54-year-old gave the view that the departures and arrivals at the Nerazzurri have left them in a good position for the season.

Inter underwent a difficult summer, saying goodbye to Scudetto-winning coach Antonio Conte as well as two key players in the form of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.

However, the club also conducted major surgery on the squad to replace these losses, bringing in talented young manager Simone Inzaghi from Lazio and signing a number of players who so far in the season have performed exceptionally well.

Former Parma captain Minotti believes that, along with the Giallorossi and city rivals the Rossoneri, the Nerazzurri are the club who have left themselves best-poised with their transfer business over the summer.

“The best operations were done by Rome, Milan and Inter,” he said. “I see these three as favourites, but always keep an eye on La Dea.”

He went on, “Inter have made up for the major sales well by signing players who make sense and betting on a good coach.”
