Inter have not lost interest in Chelsea wing-backs Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri, and could move for one of the pair next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Chelsea duo have not fallen off of the Nerazzurri’s radar and could be among their targets to replace Ivan Perisic next summer should the Croat depart at the end of his contract.

Alonso and Emerson had both been among the Nerazzurri’s candidates as they searched for a left-sided player to strengthen their wide options, and both had also been considerations as part of player-plus-cash swaps in the Blues’ pursuits of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.

In the end however, Inter opted not to sign a left-sided player and instead will continue to rely on Perisic and on loan returnee Federico Dimarco, while Alonso remains at Chelsea and Emerson has joined Lyon on loan with an option to buy.

This does not necessarily conclude Inter’s interest in either, however, and they could look to move for one of the pair next summer if Perisic leaves, as looks likely.
