Inter are still interested in signing Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne, and could look to start contacts with him early next year over a free transfer when he is out of contract.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri admire the 30-year-old’s profile and he is still considered to be a major option to complete their attack.

Insigne’s current deal with the Partenopei runs out at the end of June 2022, and talks over an extension look to be decisively stalled.

The Nerazzurri were among the clubs looking to take advantage of this situation over the summer, with the winger’s signing having been targeted, but in the end they opted for Lazio’s Joaquin Correa instead.

The player’s situation has not changed however, with contract negotiations at a standstill, and Inter are still seriously weighing up an approach to being him in next summer when his contract is up.
