Inter midfielder Matias Vecino looks likely to be a regular starter for Uruguay in their 2022 World Cup qualifiers during the international break.
This according to Uruguayan news outlet Ovacion, who report that the Inter man will form part of a midfield diamond for the national team in line with the one used by coach Oscar Tabarez at this summer’s Copa America during the fixtures.
Vecino is an important player for the Uruguayan national side, forming part of a quartet alongside the likes of Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, Real Madrid star Federico Valverde, and Flamengo’s Giorgian de Arrasceta.
This formation is set to continue during this international break, where the 30-year-old Nerazzurri player will continue to be a vital central player for his country.
Inter fans and head coach Simone Inzaghi will keenly watch the Uruguayan’s performances with his country, with a view to potentially seeing him have more of a significant role for his club after missing a significant portion of last season through injury.
