Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic looks set to leave Inter next summer as a free agent, with a contract extension unlikely to be agreed upon and his current deal expiring at the end of June 2022.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Croat will stay at the Giuseppe Meazza for one final season and then depart after seven years.

Perisic’s contract runs out next summer but the club have not made extending with him a priority, as his age and high wages would make an agreement difficult given the budgetary considerations of the club.

The Croat, who joined Inter in the summer of 2015, still has a major role to play for one more season, having been converted to a wing-back by Antonio Conte after his return from a Bayern Munich loan last season and used in the position in the Nerazzurri’s first two matches of the season by Simone Inzaghi.

However, it looks as though after this season his contract will be allowed to run out and his future will lay elsewhere.
