Inter forward Alexis Sanchez is set to be available for the Nerazzurri’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid on September 15 after recovering from his calf injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Chilean could be available as early as the Nerazzurri’s first game back from the international break, a Serie A clash with Sampdoria on the twelfth, but that at the latest he is expected to be ready for his return in their Champions League group stage opener.

Sanchez has been dealing with a persistent calf injury for much of the summer, having been ruled out of all but 45 minutes of the Copa America with Chile, and this has carried over into the season as well.

The 32-year-old was absent from the Nerazzurri’s entire preseason and also missed the first two matches of the Serie A season, against Genoa and Hellas Verona.

However, a return appears to be close at hand, and if it does not come against Sampdoria then he should be all ready for the Real Madrid game.
