Legendary former Inter striker Christian Vieri believes that the Nerazzurri have made the right signing in the form of Joaquin Correa, because he has chemistry with coach Simone Inzaghi.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, the former striker expressed the view that Correa can carry over his form shown while at Lazio under the current Inter boss and that this will be crucial to the Nerazzurri’s season.

Correa was brought in from the Biancocelesti last week and he made a major impact only a day after his signing was officially completed, coming off the bench to score a match-winning brace against Hellas Verona.

Vieri believes that by giving Inzaghi a player who he had worked with before and asked for, the Nerazzurri have strengthened the manager’s project and given him tactical continuity in building his project, and that this is more important than the individual characteristcs of the player.

“They chose the player who the coach wanted,” he explained, “and this is extremely important, certainly even moreso than the qualities which Correa has individually.”
