Inter forward Alexis Sanchez will meet with a medical expert this weekend to determine the course of the rest of his recovery from a calf injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Chilean’s rehabilitation is going well but that no chances will be taken with his return to action and that more will be known after the weekend.

Sanchez has been dealing with a persistent calf problem through the summer which also ruled him out of the Nerazzurri’s opening two Serie A matches, but a return to the pitch looks to be in sight for him.

The Chilean has still been working on his own rather than training with the rest of the squad, but he is working hard and has shown significant progress.

It is not yet clear whether he will be available for Inter’s trip to Sampdoria on the twelfth after the international break, or if he will wait until the Real Madrid game during the week, but he will have his condition assessed this weekend.
