Inter forward Alexis Sanchez is expected to be back with the Inter squad after his injury lay-off in time for the Real Madrid game, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, the Chilean has been recovering from a calf injury ever since Copa America with his national side in the summer, which is why he has not been involved in Inter’s first two games of the season.

He will not be fit enough in time for the trip to Genoa to face Sampdoria next weekend, but could be in contention to feature against Real Madrid in Inter’s opening Champions League group stage fixture.

That match will take place on 15th September but given Simone Inzaghi is expected to rest Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa for the Sampdoria match in order to keep them fresh for Real Madrid, he will probably not have a chance of starting the game.
