An Italian journalist has suggested that Inter are performing much better than other Serie A teams in the opening two fixtures of the new Serie A campaign, according to a report in the Italian print media.
Writing his column for La Gazzetta dello Sport, Alessandro De Calo explained that thanks to the impressive forward line that the club have managed to put together, Inter are doing much better than their rivals so far this season.
“I have the impression that Inter is performing better than all.”
Inter have won both of their opening games this season, the first being a commanding 4-0 victory over Genoa. The second was much harder to achieve, but two late goals from Joaquin Correa meant Inter won 3-1 away at Hellas Verona.
“Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa have scored against Venezuela in the first Argentine outing as South American champions.
“There is the problem of the return times of the South Americans, but the calendar that awaits Simone Inzaghi is quite practicable.”
The benefit to Simone Inzaghi in the next two weeks with the Champions League fixture against Real Madrid is that it is sandwiched between two Serie A matches against more beatable opponents, Sampdoria and Bologna, rather than a big match against a rival.
“The debut in the Champions League with Real Madrid remains between matches with Sampdoria and Bologna.”
