Luigi Cagni On Inter Boss Simone Inzaghi: “I Always Enjoy Watching His Teams Play”

A former Italian footballer and manager has explained how positive he feels about Inter’s chances under new boss Simone Inzaghi, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with Tuttosport, Luigi Cagni expressed the enjoyment that watching teams managed by Simone Inzaghi brings him, due to the creative freedom that the players are given.

“I have always enjoyed watching his teams. I appreciate that it is not schematic and he leaves the players free.

“If it hadn’t been for the stop of the championship for Covid, Lazio would have won the Scudetto.”

Luigi Cagni also believes that despite the difficult summer that Inter have had with losing Antonio Conte, Romelu Lukaku, and Achraf Hakimi, the Nerazzurri are the strongest team in the division along with Juventus.

“For me the Nerazzurri, who are no less strong than last season, remain the strongest team with Juventus.”

Inter have made an excellent start to the season under Simone Inzaghi by winning both of their opening games.

They beat Genoa 4-0 at home on the opening day with goals from Edin Dzeko, Hakan Calhanoglu, Arturo Vidal and Milan Skriniar.

They then beat Hellas Verona 3-1 away from home with two late goals from new signing Joaquin Correa who signed from Lazio.
