An Atlanta Hawks NBA player has been discussing Inter’s situation as the team begins its defence of the  Serie A title that they won last season, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with La Repubblica, Italian professional basketball player Danilo Gallinari explained how he thinks Inter are less competitive this year than they were the previous season under Antonio Conte.

The 33-year-old believes the departures of head coach Antonio Conte, as well as Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku, will be too much for the Nerazzurri to recover from.

“I believe that Inter without Conte, Hakimi and Lukaku are less competitive.”

As an AC Milan fan, Danilo Gallinari believes that the Rossoneri could have a much better shot at winning the title this season after they faded badly following the winter break in 2020/21.

He mainly puts this down to the signing of French striker Olivier Giroud from Chelsea, who is known for scoring goals in positions that no one else seems to manage.

“I see Milan doing well, with Giroud we will do better both in the league and in the cup. But pay attention to Juventus.
