The excellent relationship that Simone Inzaghi has with the executives at Inter was a major factor in making the summer transfer window a success, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the ex-Lazio coach has a great relationship and professional understanding with Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio.

This meant that when Romelu Lukaku was very suddenly sold by the club to Chelsea when the big €115 million bid came in, instead of creating further difficulties and stress, the club could act efficiently to sign Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa.

This relationship and patience in a difficult period means that Simone Inzaghi has a much better squad than many expected him to when the summer began.

It is believed that as long as Inter secure Champions League qualification this season, there will be money to spend in the summer of 2022.
