The new Inter side under Simone Inzaghi are keeping the ball in the opposition half for much longer than they used to under Antonio Conte, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, after the first two games of the Serie A season, Inter are the team who has had the most possession in the opposition half, with an average of 15 minutes and 31 seconds a game so far.

In comparison, the next two teams on the list are Lazio with just river 14 minutes, and AS Roma with just under 14 minutes.

This shows how despite playing a very similar formation as Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2, Simone Inzaghi is adapting to the squad he has and doing things in his own way.

Many feared that after spending so long in Lazio’s coaching ranks and then spending five seasons there as head coach, he would struggle to adapt to a new team.
