Inter midfielder Matias Vecino played for seventy minutes in the Urugyan national team’s 4-2 World Cup qualifying win over Bolivia yesterday.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri man appeared for his national team before being taken off in the seventieth minute.

Vecino is one of a number of Inter players currently away on international duty, with the 30-year-old helping the Uruguayan national team as they look to qualify for their fourth successive World Cup finals.

The Celeste are currently in position to qualify for the 2022 World Cup finals, standing fourth in the CONMEBOL qualifying table, one point behind Ecuador.

Vecino appeared for the lion’s share of the 4-2 win over Bolivia, helping his team to gain three valuable points in their quest to get to Qatar before being replaced by young Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte in order to preserve his fitness with the the result all but secured.
