Inter are yet to make progress in contract talks with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, with the Croat’s current deal running out next summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 28-year-old is still not ready to sign a new deal and that the negotiations are currently on standby.
Brozovic is an important player for Inter and with his contract expiring at the end of June 2022 as it stands the Nerazzurri consider it a priority to extend his contract and avoid losing him for free next summer.
The club want to agree on at least a four-year deal with the 28-year-old, and are ready to put €4 million net per season plus substantial add-ons, while the player wants at least €5 million net annually, perhaps as much as €6 million, given what new signing Hakan Calhanoglu earns.
It remains to be seen whether an agreement on a new deal will be found, but for now the talks have not yet progressed.
