Inter striker Martian Satriano came close to joining Ligue 1 side Brest on loan, but head coach Simone Inzaghi wanted to keep him in the first team squad instead.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the young Uruguayan was a target for the French club and that an agreement was close with the club and his entourage but that Inzaghi stopped the move.

Satriano enjoyed an eye-catching preseason after having had a strong campaign with the Primavera team last season, and it always looked like the question of whether to send the 20-year-old out on loan for playing time or to test him in the senior Nerazzurri squad would be an important one for the club.

In the end, Inzaghi and the club opted to keep him as part of the attacking rotation, as the manager believed that the striker is ready to prove himself alongside more experienced teammates.

However, there were no shortage of suitors for the Uruguayan over the summer, and Brest had come close to signing him.
