Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is asking for a wage increase to a net of €6 million per season in order to extend his contract with the Nerazzurri.
This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the Croat’s demand of €6 million net annually until 2025 is still some ways away from the club’s desire not to go beyond €4.5 million net per season until 2024.
Brozovic’s father has been in Milan since yesterday, and will soon meet with the club in order to begin the process of negotiations on an intended contract renewal for the midfielder.
The 28-year-old’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June 2022, and the club have made securing his future a priority as they are determined not to see him leave next summer as a free agent.
Talks will start soon, but for the time being it remains to be seen if an agreement can be found, with some distance separating the player’s demands and the offer that the Nerazzurri are ready to put forward.
