Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal is pleased with a point away to Ecuador in the Chilean national team’s quest to qualify for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar, despite having hoped for a win.

Chile are hoping to pick up points soon to strengthen their position and get to the World Cup having missed out on the previous edition of the finals, but they failed to take maximum points after a goalless draw against CONMEBOL rivals Ecuador.

In spite of this, Vidal posted about his pride in the result in tough circumstances on his Instagram account.

The Chilean’s message read: “A difficult game, with a lot of wear and tear due to the altitude and only few days of recovery. A place where in more than twenty years we have not gotten points. Now to look ahead to Colombia and give everything on the pitch. Vamos Chile Carajo!!!”
