Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini will be fit for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria this Sunday, and could start the match.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 27-year-old is in contention to be a part of Simone Inzaghi’s starting eleven for the weekend fixture.

The majority of the Nerazzurri’s squad will be returning from international duty over the break, including all three starting midfielders from the team’s first two Serie A matches, and some players could be rested to keep important squad members fresh.

Arturo Vidal and Matias Vecino will be returning late as their international breaks with CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers are running long, and this could mean that Gagliardini is turned to for the Sampdoria encounter with the two South Americans unlikely to be ready to play from the start due to limited time spent resting and training.
