Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal could continue to play a major role for the Nerazzurri having already shown himself to be a highly impactful player off the bench in the first two matches of the Serie A season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Chilean could be a secret weapon for coach Simone Inzaghi as the club prepare to make their return from the international break this weekend.

Vidal had been expected to leave the club this summer if the right offer came along, but in the end no interested clubs were able to sign the 34-year-old.

The midfielder has forced his way into Inzaghi’s thinking, however, rewarding the coach’s faith with impressive performances as an impact substitution in the Nerazzurri’s first two matches of the season, and he could continue in this vein if the coach trusts him to keep playing a role in the centre of the park.
