Inter defender Fedrico Dimarco could be given an important role for the Nerazzurri, with the 23-year-old having the tools to contribute significantly in coach Simone Inzaghi’s system.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who highlight the loan returnee’s versatility and argue that this could make him an option for rotation and impact substitutions that Inzghi could rely on over the course of the season.
Dimarco enjoyed two highly positive seasons playing under Ivan Juric at Hellas Verona, but he returned to the Nerazzurri this summer and has already made himself a first-team contributor.
There was interest in the 23-year-old from a number of clubs during the transfer window, but Inter opted to keep him in the squad, and Inzaghi has already called on him twice from the bench in the Nerazzurri’s opening two Serie A fixtures.
During the match against Genoa to open the season, Dimarco initially came onto the pitch for Ivan Perisic as a left-wing-back, before dropping into the defensive line when Alessandro Bastoni went off, indicating that the manager already sees him as a viable option in both areas of the pitch.
