Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi is in line to make a return to the first team as the Nerazzurri face Sampdoria in Serie A on Sunday.

According to Sky Sport Italia, coach Simone Inzaghi may be unable to call upon a group of players who represented South American international teams this week, with the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Joaquin Correa, Arturo Vidal, and Matias Vecino not expected to return to Italy until Friday.

This has paved the way for Sensi to stake a claim for a starting spot at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and the Italian international is expected to feature as an attacking midfielder, playing off striker Edin Dzeko.

Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, and Hakan Calhanoglu are all expected to start in midfield, whilst Federico Dimarco is likely to be chosen over Ivan Perisic at left wing-back, with Denzel Dumfries battling Matteo Darmian on the right.

Martinez, Correa, and Vidal will return on Friday and join training on Saturday, though Uruguay international Vecino is not due back in Milan until early on Saturday morning.
