Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni received mostly positive reviews from the Italian media following his performance for Italy against Lithuania yesterday, according to a report in the Italian media today.

The highest rating that the young defender received was from Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport. They chose to give him a seven out of 10, stating that he was particularly impressive in 1v1 situations.

Tuttosport decided to be slightly more critical of the European Champion, giving him six out of 10. The same score was received from La Gazzetta dello Sport, they praised him for quickly rectifying a mistake he made in the game.

Italy won the match 5-0 and they remain at the top of the world Cup qualifying group. They are six points ahead of Switzerland in second place, but the Azzurri have played two more matches than the Swiss.

Italy’s goal difference is far superior though, standing at +11 right now.
