Inter striker Lautaro Martinez could have his contract extended officially by next week if the final discussions go according to plan, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, the renewal will run until 2025 and see the Argentinian earn €6 million a season as well as some additional bonuses based on his and the club’s performances.

This is the type of deal that will allow Lautaro Martinez to escape from all the transfer speculation that has followed him for the past two seasons, especially this summer.

At one stage it looked much more likely that he would be the one leaving the club rather than Romelu Lukaku, who eventually joined Chelsea at the end of the transfer window.

The release clause of €111 million will no longer be included in his contract so Inter could sell him in the future for whatever fee they decide is viable at the time.
