Inter Are Working To Lower The Average Age Of The Squad Going Forward, Italian Media Report

Inter have set their sights on making the average age of the squad much lower over the next few seasons, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter has already started trying to make the team younger, mainly with who they offer contracts to.

The club are lining up renewals for Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella who will also become the new club captain, and Alessandro Bastoni.

The players they are not going to offer new contracts to are Ivan Perisic, Samir Handanovic, and Arturo Vidal.

It is also very unlikely that Aleksander Kolarov, Danilo D’Ambrosio, or Andrea  Ranocchia will be offered new deals. Alexis Sanchez has an agreement until 2023 but it is not clear whether that will be extended.

Even with the managerial appointment, Simone Inzaghi at 45 is the youngest of the top coaches in Serie A.

Edin Dzeko and Alex Cordaz were the outliers this summer.
