Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio will be keeping a very close eye on Sampdoria midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard when the two teams clash on Sunday in Serie A, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported this evening by FcINternews, Piero Ausilio has been a big fan of the Danish midfielder for some time and his appearances for Denmark at Euro 2020 merely cemented this further.

Mikkel Damsgaard was very impressive last season for Sampdoria and was a key part of the team that beat Antonio Conte’s Inter last year.

Despite this he was still a relative unknown outside of Italy and Denmark. That changed at Euro 2020 where he stepped up to the plate following the cardiac arrest that was suffered by Inter’s Christian Eriksen.

Mikkel Damsgaard was instrumental in guiding the Danish National Team to the semi-finals of Euro 2020, and he scored an excellent free-kick in their defeat to England.

It is believed he would cost around €40 million.
