New Sassuolo boss Alessio Dionisi has stated that he thinks the title race will be between Inter and Juventus this season, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Alessio Dionisi explained that he firmly believes whoever won the previous Scudetto is the favourite to win it again.

He also added that Juventus simply have to be thrown into that equation as well due to their sheer dominance over the past ten years.

“I believe that whoever won the last championship is the first candidate together with Juventus.”

The departure of Antonio Conte at the start of the summer, as well as the sales of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku meant that many predicted Inter to struggle to even qualify for the Champions League again, let alone defend their title.

The purchases have so far proved successful though, with Edin Dzeko, Joaquin Correa, and Hakan Calhanoglu all hitting the ground running for the Nerazzurri.
