Federico Dimarco could take the place of the injured Alessandro Bastoni in the starting lineup for Inter’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria tomorrow.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that with Bastoni ruled out of the clash with a thigh strain Dimarco could be a serious option for coach Simone Inzaghi in the back three, and that Ivan Peridic would then play ahead of him on the left.

Bastoni returned from international duty with a minor knock affecting his left thigh and it is confirmed that he will miss tomorrow’s match, but it has not been immediately clear who will take his place.

Dimarco showed on loan with Hellas Verona that he can proficiently play as either a left-wing-back or as a left-sided centre-back in a trio, and has already played both roles for the Nerazzurri as well, so he could be turned to as the left-sided option to take Bastoni’s place.
