Inter striker Lautaro Martinez could start against Sampdoria tomorrow, with coach Simone Inzaghi set to evaulate his condition ahead of the match when he returns to Italy.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the likeliest player to start alongside Edin Dzeko is Stefano Sensi, but that one of the Argentines Lautaro Martinez or Joaquin Correa cannot be ruled out.

Inzaghi has a selection dilemma for the clash with Sampdoria tomorrow due to Martinez and Correa’s late return from international duty, and he is likely to turn to Sensi to reprise the role of an attacking midfielder behind Dzeko which he played to good effect against Sampdoria’s city rivals Genoa on the opening day of the season.

However, with Sensi also reportedly still dealing with a minor knock and the coach wanting to put out his strongest side, the chances of Martinez in particular making the start for the match are increasing.
