Sampdoria head coach Roberto D’Aversa believes that Inter are still the top team in Serie A despite a summer of upheaval which saw the Nerazzurri change coaches and shuffle the squad.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Sampdoria’s match against Inter tomorrow, as reported by FCInter1908, the Italian tactician gave his thoughts about the strength of his opponents for tomorrow’s fixture.

The Nerazzurri have lost the likes of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku and replaced former manager Antonio Conte with Simone Inzaghi, but they remain a formidable team even if the squad will need to be rotated for tomorrow’s fixture.

D’Aversa knows that his team will be in for a tough match in tomorrow’s clash with the Nerazzurri, although he is confident in his team, and his words are a reminder that the Nerazzurri will come up against a team ready to fight and get a big result at home against the reigning Scudetto-holders.

“The Nerazzurri have changed a lot, on the pitch and on the bench, but they remain the big favourite for the title,” D’Aversa predicted.

On his team’s approach for tomorrow’s match, he said they will “try to limit mistakes and try to be more clinical in front of goal. To overcome the predicted winners, it will take the best version of Sampdoria. We must show our maximum potential in these matches.”
