Midfielder Stefano Sensi is currently the likeliest candidate to start alongside Edin Dzeko in tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the 26-year-old is the favourite to start the match ahead of Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa, although a start by Correa cannot be ruled out.

Dzeko will almost certainly lead the line for the Nerazzurri as he did in the first two matches of the season, while coach Simone Inzaghi has a selection dilemma given the late returns of Martinez and Correa, and the recent injury recovery by Alexis Sanchez.

Sensi will likely reprise his role as an attacking midfielder behind Dzeko which he was deployed in against Sampdoria’s city rivals Genoa on the opening day of the season.

Correa could also be selected, with the former Lazio forward having played less for Argentina than Martinez did, meaning that the manager could potentially judge him to be fir enough to start.
