Tomorrow it will be determined whether Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni will be able to return in time to take part in the Nerazzurri’s Champions League group stage opener against Real Madrid.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 22-year-old will undergo tests tomorrow on his thigh injury and that the club will decide on whether he is ready to return and face Real based on the results.
Bastoni missed the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria at the Marassi earlier today, with Federico Dimarco taking his place in the starting eleven and chipping in with a goal.
The 22-year-old picked up a knock while on international duty with the Italian national team, and was not deemed to be ready to start at the Marassi.
Bastoni could be a significant miss for the Nerazzurri as they look to get off to the right start in the Champions League, but the club will have to wait until tomorrow’s tests to make any decisions about whether he can be risked.
