Former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has given his view that Inter have not become weaker compared to last season despite a difficult summer transfer market.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, the 44-year-old suggested that the Nerazzurri have managed to maintain their strength through the summer despite losing key players.

Many observers have thought that Inter would not be able to continue on from last season’s impressive form, with the departures of Romelu Lukaku, Achraf Hakimi, and Antonio Conte all constituting big losses compared to last season’s Scudetto-winning team.

However, Ambrosini doesn’t believe that the team has become weaker, and that their early form has shown that the side which emerged from the summer remains very strong.

It remains to be seen if the Nerazzurri can keep up a level anything like last season’s standard over the course of the season, but the former Rossoneri midfielder doesn’t think it will be beyond them.

“In haven’t seen them as being weakened as some have led us to believe after the transfer market which hasn’t stopped them from still being the favourites,” he said.
