A decision will be made by tomorrow as to whether Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni is ready to be called up for the Nerazzurri’s Champions League group stage opener against Real Madrid.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that coach Simone Inzaghi will make his decision on whether to risk the 22-year-old over the next two days while monitoring the player’s recovery along with the medical staff.

Bastoni missed yesterday’s trip to the Marassi to face Sampdoria, with a minor thigh flexor strain picked up during international duty with Italy ruling him out of action.

Tests this morning revealed that the defender is fully recovered from the knock, but it remains to be seen whether he will able to come straight back into the team in time for the clash with Real.

The club will want to be mindful of not risking re-injury for the player, so Inzaghi will make his determination tomorrow as to whether he is ready.
