Italian media have singled out the performance of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez against Sampdoria as the best display by an Inter player on their trip to the Marasi.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport awarded the Argentine a grade of 7/10 in their player ratings for the 2-2 draw, the highest score of any Nerazzurri player for the clash.

Head coach Simone Inzaghi was given a score of 5.5/10 for his tactical decisions, which were criticized for leading to the team looking tired and some way off of their best.

Meanwhile, the likes of Milan Skriniar, Nicolo Barella, Federico Dimarco, and Danilo D’Ambrosio were given grades of 6.5/10 for the match, while Stefan de Vrij and Hakan Calhanoglu got 6/10.

Samir Handanovic, Arturo Vidal, Marcelo Brozovic, and Joaquin Correa received more middling grades of 5.5/10 while the trio of Edin Dzeko, Matteo Darmian, and Ivan Perisic were only awarded 5/10 scores for their displays, with the Croatian wing-back singled out as the worst performer in an Inter shirt on the day.
