Roma head coach Jose Mourinho believes that Inter have an advantage over many other clubs in terms of the depth of their squad.

Speaking in a press conference after the Giallorossi’s 2-1 defeat of Sassuolo at the Stadio Olimpico, as reported by L’Interista, the Portuguese tactician underlined the fact that Nerazzurri boss Simone Inzaghi had been able to make full use of his squad in the Nerazzurri’s clash with Sampdoria earlier in the day.

Inter had to make some squad rotations for yesterday’s Serie A match at the Marassi, with Alessandro Bastoni dropping out to be replaced by Federico Dimarco, and a number of players not fully fit after the international break, or suffering from fatigue.

Inzaghi decided to use all five of his substitutions as he looked to get the most out of his squad during the match and not exhaust the starting players too much, and Mourinho believes that this is not something that he is able to do at his club yet.

“Karsdorp was dead on his feet with cramp and could not keep up with Traore and Boga. If I had had Ibanez on the bench I would have put him on,” Mourinho said. “This is the difference between us and the others – did you see some of the players Simone Inzaghi brought on with his five changes?”
