Former Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has recommended his ex-teammates Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar as potential signings to his current club Chelsea.

This according to Italian news outlet SportMediaset, who report that the Belgian has proposed the two names as the Blues seek defensive reinforcements to strengthen their backline.

Bastoni and Skriniar would be difficult players to convince the Nerazzurri to part ways with, as both are considered essential squad members in the project having won the Scudetto last season and set to be major contributors going forward under Simone Inzaghi as well.

However, Lukaku knows the pair well and has reportedly told Chelsea that they would be good additions to strengthen the defense.

The European champions were thought to have been considering signing a defender during the summer transfer window just passed, but in the end no arrivals came in to their backline while the likes of Kurt Zouma, Marc Guehi, and Fiyako Tomori departed the club permanently, and they could be serious about bringing a major defensive player to Stamford Bridge.
