Legendary former striker Antonio Cassano beleives that Inter’s strength in depth will be a major advantage for them this season.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the 39-year-old highlighted the number of options available to Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi after the 2-2 draw against Sampdoria at the Marassi.

Inter’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end against Roberto D’Aversa’s Sampdoria side in Genoa on Sunday, after they surrendered the lead twice in a difficult match.

The Nerazzurri will have to show better performances than they did at the Marassi if they wish to win their second successive Scudetto, but Cassano believes that the quality is present throughout this squad to compete at the highest level.

He was complimentary of the Nerazzurri’s style and tactical approach as well as of the quality of their players, even in a disappointing result for the team.

“Sampdoria played well,” the former striker said. “Inter, who had to do something more, could have also lost. The Nerazzurri, beyond everything, when they light up they are scary – on the bench they have many great substitutes.”

He continued, ” I liked that Inzaghi put Dimarco in the back three, who played well building up from the back. Inter gives me an idea of pressing high, of always attacking.”
